Who is GhostProxy’s intended audience?
GhostProxy has been designed specifically for streamers that are using UK & European based Streaming (H.264, H.265) services that are experiencing buffering due to ISP Throttling. It doesn’t matter where you are in the World your streaming service just needs to be located in the UK or Europe for GhostProxy to do its Magic. If you have a 2mbps internet connection and your streaming service requires 10mpbs, GhostProxy will not stop the buffering. GhostProxy is for streamers that have enough bandwidth but are being throttled. We suggest getting the 24 hour trial before purchasing a subscription.
What is GhostProxy not for?
GhostProxy is not for services that block VPN’s i.e Neflix, Showmax etc. GhostProxy will not work with Torrent’s or Torrent based streaming services either.
What is Data Throttling and why do ISP’s throttle.
Data throttling is a bit like load shedding and if you are South African you will understand the term load shedding. ISP’s throttle because they don’t have sufficient capacity. This is why your bandwidth is most likely to deteriorate during peak hours. Eskom will cut power to certain parts of South Africa so the Power grid doesn’t collapse. ISP’s are a lot more cunning and you wont even know that you are being throttled. They wont throttle certain types of traffic like simple web browser traffic as its a low bandwidth service. However bandwidth consuming services like streaming, iptv will be targeted. Imagine you are in the future and you are driving on a highway and all the cars are controlled by a computer. There is congestion on the road so the computer decides to move all cars with CA number plates into the slow lane and allow the others to carry on in the fast lane. This is how throttling works. In our case all streaming packets transmitted on the internet have the fingerprint CA and are put to the bottom of the queue to be processed last by the router. This bottleneck is what causes buffering.
My VPN Provider says VPN’s will stop throttling.
This is true a VPN will stop throttling because your ISP wont know what traffic you are driving through your VPN connection. The problem though is that VPN traffic is easily identified using DPI (Deep Packet Inspection) and can be throttled.
How is GhostProxy different from a VPN?
GhostProxy also encrypts its traffic just like a VPN. The difference though is that we also add a layer of undetectable obfuscation. Through obfuscation we change the fingerprint of the traffic to one that’s less likely to be throttled thus pushing your traffic to the top of the queue and to be processed much quicker by the router.
